Mosaic Way Process Group
About the Process Group
Women from all age groups, races, sexual orientations and socio-economic backgrounds
Our group of women faced difficulty when trying to authentically connect across the dividing lines of race, class, gender and orientation. The Mosaic Way Process Group gave them a safe, facilitated space to share and process their individual experiences with the support of the collective.
We offered, bi-monthly, 2 hour sessions. The first hour of every session focused on facilitator led learning around specific social justice concepts. The 2nd hour consisted of participants reflecting on the impact of these concepts in their personal lives. Co-founders, DeAngela Cooks, M.A & Taunya Black M.A. created the curriculum and co-facilitated each session.
Participants left with an enhanced understanding of how societal issues impact their sense of self and their relationship with others. Participants shared an interest in The Mosaic Collaborative offering other iterations of the Mosaic Process group. Going forward the group will include other populations by offering targeted affinity groups around gender, orientation, race, and class.
